Donations to CrossRoads Messages are NOT tax deductible

Important Information – CrossRoads Messages is not a 501 (c) (3) non-profit ministry; therefore your donations to CrossRoads Messages are not deductible on your tax returns.

Reason – After spending some time in prayer and counsel with ministries that have the same convictions as we do in ministry style, it concerns us that a day may come when governmental organizations will use 501 (c) (3) tax status as leverage to keep churches, religious organizations and Biblically-based ministries from fulfilling their call to, “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.”  (2 Timothy 4:2)  The New Testament warns us, For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”  (2 Timothy 4:2-3)   Not having a 501 (c) (3) status/approval will enable us to keep our focus on the call set before us when such a time comes and confront the culture as the Lord leads.

Biblical Guidance for Giving to CrossRoads Messages: This website gives Biblical instructions and full accountability on our call and our beliefs.  We have made every effort to secure a trust with you that we are fully trained and strive to “Do [our] best to present [ourselves] to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

We feel this is our opportunity to share with you some key truths from God’s Word regarding financial partnership with us:  1 Timothy 5:17-18 says, Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.”  For Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain”, and “The laborer deserves his wages.” (English Standard Version)  The English Standard Version gives us this truth found in 1 Corinthians 9:14, “In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.”

These Holy-Spirit-inspired words written through the apostle Paul are the very heart of Christ (Luke 10:7-8; Matthew 10:10) regarding His servants who proclaim the privileges and responsibilities of the gospel in this dispensation.

The Holy Spirit led congregation does not set His heart on buildings and programs, but on servants of the Lord who have proven themselves faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Body of Christ through sacrificial preparation and service. The resources of prayer, assistance and finances are to be directed to Holy Spirit anointed servants of the Lord. Our Financial Donations:  We have chosen to give 10% of our gross income from CrossRoads Website to the Wounded Warrior Project (5%) and to Old Friends (5%).

Wounded Warrior Project:  Men and women have put themselves in harms way to protect our freedoms.  Like the Good Samaritan we want to be the ones, “…proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers.” (Luke 10:36) There is an ideology out there that will not go a way, is purpose is to destroy God’s people, any country who is “One Nation Under God.” (Psalm 83:1-6)  In this battle, there will be those who are harmed physically and mentally.  We choose to partner with an outreach that ministers to the needs of those who have served our nation through the Armed Forces.

Old Friends:  At Old Friends, the non-profit Thoroughbred Retirement Center in Georgetown, KY, the horses may not be racing anymore, but they are winners every day. Founded in 2003 by former Boston Globe film critic Michael Blowen, Old Friends now cares for more than 150 horses across three states whose racing and breeding careers came to an end. A “living history museum of horse racing”.

Terry (founder of CrossRoads Messages) loves horses, he worked as a master farrier for 32 years.  While on their honeymoon, Pennie and Terry stop by Old Friends for a visit.  Pennie—a thoroughbred horse lover—and Terry were touched by the vision of Old Friends.  Terry and Pennie feel honored to help make a way for this wonderful horse farm, caring for the Lord’s Thoroughbred race horses.  Proverbs 12:10 says, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals….”

We want to thank you for taking time to read this short teaching for it is our heart’s desire that you make a decision birthed from God’s Word.
