This is the mission statement of the CrossRoads Ministries.

Our Purpose:  “Stand at the crossroads and look...  ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”  (Jeremiah 6:16 NIV)  People of this world are lost and are standing at the crossroads everyday.  Our desire is, through God’s word, to bring them to the place of decision.  We want them to understand clearly that to go one way means death; to go another means life.  The good way is a life of repentance, reconciliation, reverent fear and love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Call:  “Preach the Word...” (2 Timothy 4:2)  The apostle Paul’s charge to Timothy is not to preach about the Bible, but to proclaim or herald the Word of God.  We are appointed as ambassadors of Christ to proclaim the message of salvation and appeal to lost souls to be reconciled to God through accepting Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

Our Belief:  “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”  (2 Timothy 3:16)  “The Word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword...  it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”  (Hebrews. 4:12) “God’s Word is like fire... and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces.” (Jeremiah 23: 29)  As God’s Word goes out into the public, it will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)  Faith comes by people hearing the message of God’s Word about Christ. (Romans 10: 17)  It is a necessity to get the Word of God out to people in the Norton County area and beyond if we are going to reach them for the Lord and fulfill our part of the “Great Commission.”

Understanding:  We joyfully plant the seeds of God’s Word, knowing well that Jesus taught that there are four types of soil which represent the hearts of mankind.  1.) The hard trodden-down pathways are like the hearts of those who hear, but the devil comes and takes away the Word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.  2.) The rocky ground is like the hearts of those who believe for awhile, but in the time of testing fall away.  3.) The thorny ground is like those who have hearts with faith that is quickly choked out by life’s worries, riches, and pleasures, and they never mature.  However, 4.) The fertile soil is like those with good and noble hearts. They will hear the Word, retain it, and by persevering, produce a crop. (Luke 8:11 - 15)   We also understand that the results of the harvest from the planted seeds of God’s Word come from God, for only He can bring growth. (1 Corinthians 3:6)

Responses:  CrossRoads messages and teachings go around the world.  Christians and non-Christians, some who are shut-in due to age or physical ailments have expressed thanksgiving to us for our teachings of God’s Word.  People send our teachings to family members and friends and hang them on the walls in their homes.  CrossRoads Articles have grown from short messages of teaching the truths of God’s Word to full transcripts of messages.  These transcripts are on SermonCentral (with over 10,000 viewings increasing weekly).  We are non-denominational. As of February 2009 according to SermonCentral we are the 18th most read out 96 contributors who are non-denominational.  Of the 66 contributors from the state of Kansas, we are rated the 4th most read.  Pastors and teachers have rated our messages at 90%, saying these messages are helpful to those who read them.  For this we praise the Lord.

Faith:  It is the Lord who has called us to go out into the world through our local paper, websites, and CDs in our effort to fulfill our part of the Great Commission.   We fully trust in Him to help us make disciples, teaching them to obey everything He has commanded us to obey.   He has promised that He would always be with us and that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us to fulfill His mandate. (Acts 1:8)  We give ourselves fully to this work of the Lord, for we have this promise in God’s Word, “...[our labors] in the Lord are not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15: 58)

Your Partnership is Requested:  We are in a battle for the souls of mankind.  Our adversary is effective at “[blinding] the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ...” (2 Corinthians 4:4)  Many in our area have only a form of godliness yet deny the power of God. (2 Timothy 3:5) It is our heartfelt desire to give all of Norton County an opportunity to receive Christ so as not to be accountable for their blood. (Ezekiel 33: 7 -9)

In partnering with us we ask that you pray, petitioning the Lord to do a work through CrossRoads to call people unto Christ and send them to Bible believing and preaching churches. As the Holy Spirit leads we ask you to prayerfully consider making a donation to further our mission of getting the Word of God out of the church walls and into the homes of people who live not only Norton County but around the world.

Thanks so much for making time to prayerfully read this “Mission Statement.”
